We build custom made upright electric basses. These are hand made of maple, or maple and mahogany and come with a rosewood or ebony fingerboard. We use real brass upright bass tuners and genuine violin varnishes.  The finish is hand a rubbed Tung oil blend. The body is 4 pieces of maple laminated together. The "wings" are maple front and back or maple front with a mahogany back. The inside of the body has hollow sound chambers, giving the bass a nice resonance even when unplugged.  Currently there are no built in electronics or pickups. A built in pickup and pre-amp are in the works but for now we believe the David Gage Realist produces the best sound from this instrament.
